Fulton County auditors present 2024 report; commissioners give verbal approval to advertise tentative 2026 budget

County Auditors Penny Kipp, Holly Falkosky and Rebecca Kendall presented the Annual Audit Report for the year ending Dec. 31, 2024 and said the DCED (Department of Community and Economic Development) filing was completed and a notice published in the Fulton County News; the full audit report is available on the county website.
The board met with Mike Lamb of Wessel & Co. and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed for a final review of the 2026 budget. Commissioners gave verbal approval for the final draft to be presented at the Nov. 25 meeting for adoption as the tentative 2026 budget and to advertise it to the public for comment.
During the meeting the board approved several finance-related items: Wessel & Co.'s October 2025 invoice for CFO services in the amount of $10,987.50 and a 1-year HART extended warranty for Verity Scan equipment beginning Jan. 18, 2026, in the amount of $2,700. The Board of Assessment and Revision of Taxes Certification for the 2026 assessment roll, presented by Chief Tax Assessor Melissa Gordon, was also approved to comply with the cited statute. The motions for these approvals were recorded as carried.
