Alpena County approves $12,893 Veterans Affairs budget adjustment after grant criteria change

Veterans Affairs Director Dan Perge told the board the FY26 County Veterans Service Fund Grant had shifted between reimbursement-based and upfront funding and that the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency later notified the office the grant returned to its original project criteria. Because the projects qualified under the reverted criteria, Director Perge requested a $12,893 budget adjustment for the Veterans Affairs office.
Commissioner Brenda Fournier moved to approve the adjustment and Commissioner Lucille Bray supported the motion. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Commissioners Bill LaHaie, Dan Ludlow, Lucille Bray, Bill Peterson, Brenda Fournier, Todd Britton, and John Kozlowski. NAYS: None. Commissioner Travis Konarzewski, excused. The board approved increasing revenue line item 293-682-553.000 State Grant and increasing expense line item 293-682-903.001 Grant Marketing by $12,893 as presented.
