At its Jan. 27 regular meeting the Trussville City Council approved multiple routine measures, including an annexation, personnel and fleet actions, and a community proclamation.
Councilor Kimberly Farr successfully moved to suspend the rules for immediate consideration of an annexation and introduced an ordinance to annex 2962 Queenstown Road; the council approved Ordinance No. 2026-001-ANX by unanimous vote. Councilor Ben Horton introduced and the council adopted Resolution No. 2026-08 to establish the classification for a part-time Business License Compliance Officer in Finance, intended to help bring out-of-compliance business owners into compliance and assist with alcohol-license applications. Councilor Jim Miller introduced Resolution No. 2026-09 to grant a few days of unpaid leave in March to a probationary employee; that resolution passed unanimously. The council also approved Resolution No. 2026-10 declaring various Police Department Chevrolet Tahoes surplus.
Councilor Miller introduced Proclamation No. 2026-03 honoring local resident Willie Snipes, Miles College Bands Director; the council approved the proclamation by unanimous vote. There were no public comments on the regular agenda items prior to the votes recorded in the minutes.
