Buffalo County approves minutes, payroll, collateral adjustments and a liquor license; forms ad hoc committee

At its Sept. 9 meeting the board approved minutes and payroll, accepted financial reports, added and released pledged collateral totaling $2.5 million in transactions with NebraskaLand Bank, approved inventory statements, granted a special designated liquor license for an event at Knobel Barns, and authorized an ad hoc committee on payroll voucher materials and naming rights.
The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 9 approved a slate of routine administrative and financial items. The board approved the Aug. 26 minutes and ratified payroll processed Sept. 5, accepted the Clerk of the District Court's fee report and the County Treasurer's August fund balance report.
The board approved adding pledged collateral in the amount of $1,300,000 for the County Treasurer at NebraskaLand Bank and approved the release of pledged collateral in the amount of $1,200,000. Both motions passed on roll-call votes with the seven members recorded as voting "Aye." The board also approved fiscal year 2024–2025 inventory statements filed by county officials and directed that those statements be filed with the County Clerk as public record.
After review of the County Sheriff's reports the board approved Special Designated Liquor License applications filed by Stockmen's Bar and Grill for an event to be held at Knobel Barns (3070 Odessa Road, Kearney) on Sept. 27, 2025. The board also authorized formation of an ad hoc committee to review materials or informational items included with employee payroll vouchers and the county's policy and procedures related to naming rights.
Most motions were unanimous according to the meeting record; each motion lists the member who moved and seconded and the roll-call vote results.
