The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 9 denied the proposed administrative plat for the Halkyard Subdivision. Zoning Administrator Dennise Daniels presented a report recommending denial of the administrative plat filed by licensed land surveyor Bryan Brown on behalf of property owners including John and Karen Halkyard, David Halkyard, Debbie Chaney and Dee Krolikowski.
Deputy County Attorney Andrew Hoffmeister also commented on the denial during the presentation. Bryan Brown and applicants John and Karen Halkyard were present to review the application and answer questions. After discussion, Bill Maendele moved to deny the proposed administrative plat; Ronald Loeffelholz seconded. The motion carried with a 6–1 vote: Maendele, Loeffelholz, Higgins, Kouba, Lynch and Morrow voted "Aye" and Ivan Klein voted "Nay."
The board advised that if the applicants wish to proceed with a noncompliant plat they must submit a written request to the Buffalo County Board of Adjustment for further consideration.
