Kittitas County commissioners approve 2026 levy, surplus equipment and a $300,000 economic development award

Public Works items included Resolution No. 2026-031 concerning county road levy certification and Resolution No. 2026-032 to correct a scrivener’s error in a prior resolution; the latter authorizes the county’s water resource manager to accept funding from the Washington State Department of Ecology and to sign Grant Agreement No. SEAFBD-2521-KLCPWD-00022. The board also presented Resolution No. 2026-033 to award Distressed County Sales & Use Tax funds in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for the recruitment and funding of an Economic Development Director.
The board approved and authorized the chair’s signature on Standard Title VI nondiscrimination assurances and the Title VI annual accomplishment reports.
Procedural motions to approve the meeting agenda and the consent agenda were made by Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith and seconded by Commissioner Laura Osiadacz; those motions were recorded as carried 3-0.
