Mayor says Chick‑fil‑A is on schedule; council hears park update and residents' dumping concerns

Council Member Jacks reported that a resident in District 5 praised police officers for their response to an emergency call and noted the Fire Department received an ISO rating of 2. Fire Chief Sullivan thanked the mayor and council for a newly installed radio system.
During public comment, Marcia Blackman introduced herself as a candidate for Alabama House District 57. Resident Roscelia Steele of 89 Crystal Avenue asked the mayor and council for an update on a dumping issue across the street from her home; no response or follow-up was recorded in the minutes. Eric Frey, representing American Legion Post 2845, expressed the post's willingness to assist the city, and Philip Longmire said he had contracted a cleanup and would provide photos at the next meeting.
