Hudson County officials prepare new procurement for jail medical services as WellPath parent faces bankruptcy

Hudson County officials said Tuesday they will move forward with a public procurement for jail medical services after the county shared proposed specifications with the state Comptroller.
Donato J. Battista, Hudson County Counsel, told the Board of County Commissioners the county had circulated a proposed set of specifications to the Comptroller and expects a response before issuing the request for proposals. “Once they've cleared it, we will issue the RFP by a public procurement process,” Battista said. He added that, to his knowledge, “there has been no interruption in the services that are being provided by WellPath.”
