Fulton County proclaims March 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Fulton County commissioners on Feb. 24 adopted a proclamation declaring March 2026 as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute the proclamation, which commends public observance and states that "Fulton County becomes a better place when people with and without disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities." Representatives from Occupational Services Inc., CRI, the Franklin/Fulton IDD program, Full Circle Residence, Lupey Behavioral Services, Fulton County Human Services and The Arc of Franklin-Fulton Counties attended the signing and posed for a group photo with the commissioners.
Human Services Director Julie Dovey and other advocates were present to accept the proclamation. The proclamation was approved by unanimous vote; commissioners encouraged the public to observe activities and resources related to developmental disabilities during March.
