Commission approves health‑board and other appointments, renewals and grant applications

At its Aug. 5 meeting, the Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County approved several personnel appointments, program renewals and grant applications intended to support county services.
The commission unanimously appointed Alison Wigand to fill a vacancy on the Chattahoochee County Board of Health; the formal resolution records her term through Dec. 31, 2027. Commissioners also unanimously renewed the county’s annual 4‑H agreement with the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service and approved a SEID/Trail grant application to pursue funding for a county trail project.
The commission reappointed April Hughes to the New Horizons Behavioral Health Community Service Board for a three‑year term beginning Dec. 1, 2025 and expiring Nov. 30, 2028; New Horizons documentation requesting the reappointment is in the file. Correspondence from the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension (July 24, 2025) also appears in the record, seeking county approval of mileage funding for the 4‑H team and presenting the proposed county contribution and billing schedule for July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026.
All these motions passed unanimously as recorded in the minutes. County staff said they will follow routine appointment processing and contract/fee arrangements and will post required documentation on the county website.
