At its May 7 special session, the Town of Camp Verde appointed Councilor Wendy Escoffier as Vice Mayor. Councilmember Foreman moved to appoint Escoffier and Councilmember Godwin seconded; the motion passed on a 6–0 roll call vote.
Town Manager Miranda Fisher briefed the Council on the statutory obligations under Town Code Section 2‑1‑4 requiring the Council to fill the vacant seat by June 16, 2025. Council approved the process to accept in‑person applications at Town Hall from May 8 through May 22, 2025. The Manager and Council discussed application content and timeline; Council directed staff to proceed with the process as presented.
The Council also discussed applicant engagement: several members favored inviting finalists to attend a Council meeting to answer questions. The process as approved requires in‑person submission of applications and provides for Council selection before the statutory deadline.
