Chattahoochee County approves multiple public-works bids and project awards; declares two buildings surplus

The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County voted on Oct. 7 to move forward on several capital projects and procurement actions, recording unanimous votes on each motion.
Commissioners approved putting Riverbend Road and Liberty Hill Road resurfacing out to bid and accepted Wahoo Dock’s only bid for the Riverbend fishing dock. The board approved a storage building project at 215 McNaughton Street, with Chattahoochee Concrete awarded the slab work and North Carolina Carports awarded the building contract. For a City Hall Welcome Center refurbishment, the commission accepted a low concrete bid from Chattahoochee Concrete.
The board also approved adding kennel runs at the Cusseta Dog Pound: concrete work to Rock Solid Construction, fencing to United Fencing, and the building to McGuire Buildings. Commissioners declared two county-owned buildings—one on King Street and the old fire station on Fire Tower Road—surplus and authorized demolition; minutes note the county will try to retain the old fire station slab for potential future reuse.
All motions recorded in the Oct. 7 minutes carried unanimously. The minutes identify the commissioners present (Chairman Charles Coffey; Vice-Chairman Timothy Biddle; Commissioners Gerald Douglas, Damon Hoyte and Jason Frost) and show the standard mover/second pattern (frequently Commissioner Biddle as mover and Commissioner Frost as seconder in the packet actions).
