Boone County canvasses Ogden special election; joint drainage district appoints contractor

On March 10, 2026, the Boone County Board of Supervisors reconvened at 9:00 a.m.; Chairman Erich D. Kretzinger and Supervisors Shawn Bryant and Scott Longhorn were present. The board met in joint session for Drainage District Boone 149/Webster 222 business and approved routine items by unanimous vote.
The joint drainage district approved the agenda, accepted and placed on file a drainage repair request, and appointed Central Iowa Drainage as the contractor for the repair work; all motions were approved unanimously. The joint session then adjourned.
County Auditor Diane R. Patrick presented the canvass for the Ogden Special Election. The canvass record lists four absentee ballots (two for candidate Haynie, one for Good, one for Bollenbaugh), 219 votes cast on election day (112 for Good, 67 for Haynie, 37 for Bollenbaugh) and three write-ins. The Auditor’s certification in the meeting record shows Dennis Good was declared the winner with 113 votes total. The board approved the canvass by motion.
The board adjourned at 9:52 a.m.
