The grant contract in the packet describes allowable uses — archival shelving and supplies, digitization, contract conservation services, exhibitions, and community programming — and requires an expenditures and accounting report within 60 days of the grant period’s end.
Resolution #26‑01‑02: Health department grant — Commissioners approved a $79,006 Tennessee Department of Health non‑matching grant allocated to the Rhea County Health Department for employee salaries, benefits and related expenses; the State–County agreement in the meeting packet sets reporting, payment schedules and the contract term through June 30, 2026.
Resolution #26‑01‑04: Federal Safety Grant — The board accepted a $175,000 federal safety grant with a required $35,000 match from TVA Impact funds to help the Highway Department maintain signage and reflectors. The commission recorded the approval as unanimous.
Resolution #26‑01‑03: Lease amendment — The commission approved an amendment to the five‑year lease with the State Department of Corrections for Justice Center office space, extending the term through Jan. 31, 2032 and reducing usable square footage to 2,025. The county’s exhibit materials set Feb. 1, 2026 as the lease commencement date and list build‑out responsibilities and monthly rent amounts.
Resolution #26‑01‑05: Surplus EMS equipment — The board declared a 1986 Ford pumper tanker (VIN 1FDYD80U0GVA08181) used by Emergency Management as surplus and authorized the director to sell, auction or otherwise dispose of it.
All resolutions passed by unanimous vote as recorded in the minutes. The packet included contracts, scope exhibits and standard state grant terms for the museum award and the health department agreement, with compliance, nondiscrimination and records retention provisions spelled out.
