The Camp Verde Council on Feb. 19 directed staff to draft an amendment to the Town’s zoning code to remove RV park use permits from residential zones.
Town Manager Miranda Fisher and Planner II Cory Mulcaire told Council members that the Planning and Zoning Commission had reviewed whether to recommend eliminating the RV Park Use Permit in residential zones and asked the Council for direction on proceeding with a one-time change separate from the Comprehensive Zoning Code Update. Two residents, Cheri Wischmeyer and Charlotte Salsman, spoke during public comment to oppose allowing RV use in residential areas, citing neighborhood concerns.
On a motion by Councilor Robert Foreman and seconded by Councilor Robin Godwin, Councilors voted unanimously to direct staff to draft an amendment to the zoning code to remove RV Use Permits from residential zones. The action directs staff to prepare draft language for future formal consideration; it does not itself change the ordinance. Staff will return proposed ordinance language to the Council for review at a later agenda.
