Camp Verde council approves 60-day public notice for proposed fee changes after staff presentation

The Town of Camp Verde on Feb. 19 voted unanimously to post a 60-day Notice of Intent for proposed FY25–26 fee increases and new service charges, Finance Director Michael Showers told the Council.
Showers said state requirements call for the Town to publish a Notice of Intent online for at least 60 days before holding any public hearing on fee changes. Building Official Roxanne Jasman and Planner II Cory Mulcaire explained proposed changes to Community Development permit fees and described how permit charges would be calculated under the proposed schedule.
Resident Dave Grondin urged the Council to revisit the permit-fee calculation schedule, saying he had concerns about how the fees are computed and their potential impact on applicants. The Council did not change the proposal that night but voted, on a motion by Councilor Robin Godwin and seconded by Mayor Dee Jenkins, to approve posting the Notice of Intent so the public may review and comment during the required period. The roll-call vote was 7–0.
The posting starts the statutorily required public-notice phase; any formal changes to fees would require a later public hearing and separate Council action. The Finance Department and Community Development staff will be responsible for publishing the notice and receiving public comments during the 60-day period.
