Public Works Director Hayden White told the Planning Commission that Cottonwood Park's playground installation was completed the prior Monday and the park is already in active use.
"By noon on Monday, 22 children were counted playing on the new playground," White said, noting the park is fully operational. He said future plans include an amphitheater, bathrooms, parking, and additional play equipment but those projects are on hold pending funding. White also reported ongoing work on the secondary waterline along Mid Valley Road and said crews hope for drier weather to complete indoor tasks started during recent rains.
Commissioners discussed the need for better neighborhood-demographic research before adding amenities and noted drainage fixes remain a priority; White said taking drainage underground, similar to nearby installations, is desirable but will depend on available funds.
