Following a closed session under G.S. §143-318.11(a)(5) on Aug. 8, the Henderson City Council voted to authorize the City Manager to acquire strategic properties in the West End Urban Redevelopment Area. Council reconvened in open session and Council Member Melissa Elliott moved the resolution; Council Member Lamont Noel seconded. The motion passed: YES — Noel, Elliott, Thorpe-Cooper, Spriggs, Williams and Coffey; ABSENT — D. Michael Rainey and Garry D. Daeke.
