The Custer County Board adjourned as the county board and convened as the Board of Equalization on Feb. 24. Assessor Taylor presented a set of tax-list corrections prompted by the state audit, including reductions in homestead exemption percentages and clerical corrections for multiple parcels across districts 1 through 7.
Examples recorded in the meeting minutes include reductions such as: Darrell D. & Ruth Ann Myers (Dist. #1) 2022 homestead reduced from 100% to 80% (+$190.08); Connie Bottorf (Dist. #1) 2023 homestead reduced from 100% to 70% (+$519.04); and other corrections across districts, some reversing homestead percentages to 0% for 2022 or 2023 where the state audit required changes.
Motions to approve tax-list corrections for each district were moved and seconded by supervisors (for example, motions by Kleeb and Govier; Parliament and Longmore; Blowers and Longmore; Markham and Parliament) and passed by roll call votes (Ayes–All). The board then adjourned as the Board of Equalization and reconvened as the County Board.
The minutes list individual parcel identifiers and the dollar adjustments associated with the homestead changes, but do not include the underlying documentation from the state audit in the transcript. Assessor Taylor also recommended permissive-exemption actions on several nonprofit applications during the same agenda sequence.
