Marie Moore was sworn in as mayor of the Town of Camp Verde on April 16, 2025, after then-Mayor Dee Jenkins resigned to take a seat on the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors.
Dee Jenkins resigned her position as mayor at 11:50 a.m. on April 16, according to Town Attorney Trish Stuhan. Vice Mayor Moore took the oath of office at 5:29 p.m. that same day and was sworn in by Town Clerk Leah Rhodes before the council’s 6 p.m. regular meeting, Mayor Moore said.
At the council meeting, Jenkins addressed the council during public comment and thanked members for their years of service and collaboration, and Mayor Moore publicly recognized Jenkins’s appointment to District 2 on the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors.
Town Attorney Trish Stuhan told the council the town will place an agenda item at an upcoming meeting to discuss the procedures for filling the now-vacant council seat and for selecting a new vice mayor under Town Code Section 2.2.2. Town Manager Miranda Fisher and Stuhan answered council questions about the timing and next steps.
The council did not take a vote on the vacancy process at the April 16 meeting; Stuhan said the matter will be brought back as a noticed agenda item so the public and council can consider the options formally.
