County reviews $186,700 estimate for CHS well replacement and modernization

County Administrator Vivian Seay presented updated pricing and a scope summary for the CHS well replacement project at the June 12 meeting.
Seay said the project scope includes redesign and modernization of the existing well system and connections, improvements to the well house building, replacement of the hydro tank with ground storage to increase capacity, new fittings for fire department connections, replacement of bladder tanks, clearing building drains and creating a swale for improved drainage, addition of a non-pressurized fire department connection to replace a nonfunctional hydrant, and other items as needed. The estimated cost presented to the Board was $186,700.
Seay said staff will investigate procurement requirements for the additional work and report back to the Board before the project proceeds.
