Supervisors approve modular-classroom change orders, animal shelter generator and updated VPPSA debris contract

Regional Animal Shelter generator: County Administrator Vivian Seay said King William County identified and agreed to apply capital reserve funds to offset most of the generator cost; King and Queen will be responsible for half of the remaining cost. The Board approved purchasing and installing a new permanent generator for the Regional Animal Shelter at a cost of $20,071.85; the shelter previously relied on a portable generator.
VPPSA disaster debris removal agreement: To satisfy procurement requirements and maintain a current contractor list for post-disaster debris removal, the Board authorized the County Administrator to execute an updated VPPSA agreement that rebids contractor lists periodically.
How they voted: Each motion carried unanimously with Supervisor S. C. Alsop absent.
Next steps: Project managers will proceed with the modular campus work and scheduling for generator installation; county administration will finalize VPPSA contract execution.
