Police Chief Troy Willcutt presented fleet details and recent maintenance history to the Satsuma City Council on Dec. 16 as part of Resolution 2025-12-04, a proposal to purchase police vehicles. Councilmember Jason Skelton moved to approve the resolution and Councilmember Bert Taylor seconded the motion.
Councilmember Jake O'Rear asked to see financing details before a final vote and said the city also has a need for a knuckle boom truck that was not included in the current budget. Other councilmembers acknowledged the need for new police vehicles but agreed waiting for financing information was reasonable. After discussion, Councilmember Skelton withdrew his motion and the item was tabled to a future meeting.
The council did not take a formal vote on the purchase; no financing package or purchase amount was provided at the meeting. The council will revisit the resolution once staff supplies financing options and cost details.
