Fulton County adopts 2026 budget and keeps tax rate unchanged

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners unanimously adopted the county'026 budget and approved the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution for fiscal year 2026 with no increase in the tax rate. The board voted to adopt the budget as presented by Chief Financial Officer Mike Lamb and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed.
Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed told commissioners that the budget contained no changes since it was publicly advertised. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget; the motion passed with all commissioners voting in favor.
The budget adoption occurred alongside routine financial business. Commissioners earlier approved the Dec. 23, 2025 meeting minutes and authorized Accounts Payable dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87 (General Fund $98,764.92; Debt Service $14,148.95).
HR Administrator Mary Huston presented the December 2025 Pension Report, which the board approved during the session.
The board also approved a retention agreement to engage Keller Engineer, Inc. for the 2026 fiscal year; the formal appointment is scheduled for the county—oard—ormal Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026.
The commissioners concluded the agenda items related to finance by adopting the budget and confirming the county—inancial actions for year-end processing.
