Nelson County Commission approves budget amendment and three fund transfers, including new sheriff K-9 fund

Parks also asked the commission to transfer $10,000 from the Social Service Indirect fund to the Building Repairs fund. Parks said the amount had been previously allocated for construction approved at the June 20, 2023 regular commission meeting but that construction and billing remain incomplete. Commissioner Cameron Swenson moved the transfer; Commissioner Steve Forde seconded and the vote was unanimous.
Separately, the commission approved creating a new Sheriff K9 fund and transferring $42,033 from the LLE Block Grant Fund into it. Parks reported research of K9-related revenues and expenses dating to December 2013 that totaled $42,033. Commissioner Cameron Swenson moved the transfer and Commissioner Aaron Mork seconded; the motion passed with all members voting yes.
