County approves 3% pay increase for Veteran Service van driver; officer to attend out-of-budget training

Commissioner Richard Strand moved and Commissioner Ted Johnson seconded a motion to approve the 3% wage increase for the van driver and the administrative work tied to the Veteran Service van grant; the motion passed with all members voting yes. Earlier in the meeting Veteran Service Officer Dennis Lindstrom had explained that he will attend the unbudgeted training but will refrain from other elective trainings to help control costs.
County officials said the van grant reimburses wages for the driver and administrative costs associated with operating the van service. The commission recorded the motion in the minutes and directed staff to process the wage adjustment through payroll.
