Nelson County adopts shop foreman pay scale, OKs $4,000 equipment purchase for Highway shops

Highway Superintendent Curt Loe and consultant Paul Bjornson (KLJ) joined the commission to discuss Road & Bridge business. After reviewing a proposed pay scale for a shop foreman, the commission approved the pay scale as presented on a roll call vote with all members voting "Yes."
Separately, the commission voted to purchase power washers for the county shops with a spending cap of $4,000, following a motion by Commissioner Aaron Mork and a second by Commissioner Steve Forde; the vote was unanimous. Commissioner Mork also said he intends to hold a meeting at the Highway shop in February to monitor processes and procedures.
The minutes record these measures as routine operational decisions to support Highway Department functions; no dollar amounts beyond the $4,000 equipment cap were provided for personnel costs in the meeting minutes.
