Chairman Cody Johnson presided as the Nelson County Commission moved through several board appointments at its Jan. 16 meeting.
The commission reappointed Jay Vasichek and Commissioner Steve Forde to the Nelson County Job Development Authority Board of Directors after a motion by Commissioner Cameron Swenson and a second from Commissioner Aaron Mork. The motions passed with all members voting "Yes." Commissioner Forde later moved and Commissioner Swenson seconded the appointment of Lindsay Engen Maresh to fill a vacancy on the Job Development Authority; that motion also carried unanimously. The commission appointed John Kelly to the vacancy on the Nelson County Housing Authority after a motion by Commissioner Forde and a second from Commissioner Mork; the vote was unanimous.
The appointments were handled as routine motions during the meeting; no public comment on those nominations was recorded. The commission’s actions fill current vacancies on two county authorities that oversee local housing and economic development efforts.
