Nelson County adopts new overtime thresholds for Highway Department

Highway Superintendent Curt Loe reviewed the revised policy and commissioners voted to add language defining overtime as any time worked over eight hours during the winter schedule (five-day work week) and any time worked over 10 hours during the summer schedule (four-day work week). Commissioner Steve Forde moved the change and Commissioner Mike Haugland seconded; the motion carried on a roll-call vote with all members voting yes.
Commissioners also discussed insulating the McVille shop and directed staff to solicit additional quotes before committing to work. In portfolio remarks later in the meeting, Commissioner Aaron Mork noted hehad received positive feedback about the Highway Departmentoperations.
The policy change takes effect for the Highway Department as recorded in the county minutes; no immediate budgetary adjustments were specified in the discussion.
