Finley, N.D. — Steele County commissioners opened and referred for tabulation multiple bids on March 27 for an overlay of County Road 23 and paving work on County Roads 5 and 6.
Engineer Mike Bassingthwaite of Interstate Engineering read the list of bidders and confirmed deliveries. Bids were received from Bituminous Paving, Border States Paving, Central Specialties, Knife River Materials, Mark Sand & Gravel, Mayo Construction Company, R.J. Zavoral and Sons and Strata Corporation.
Commissioner Randy Richards moved to refer all bids for tabulation; Commissioner Richard Strand seconded the motion. All members present voted yes and the motion carried. The board did not award a contract at the meeting; the bids will be tabulated and returned to the commission for further action.
The bid opening and referral followed standard county procurement procedure; the engineer and county staff will review the tabulated results to recommend an award at a future meeting.
