Henderson City Council voted unanimously April 11 to contract Little Environments, PLLC for engineering and bidding services to repair and rehabilitate the storm sewer system affecting Parham Street.
City Manager Edward T. Blackmon told council the $7,000 request covers the administration portion of the project and is necessary because the City has not yet filled an engineering director position and Public Works is short-staffed. “The $7,000 is for the administration portion of the project,” Blackmon said.
Council Member William Burnette moved approval of Resolution 22-29 and Ordinance 22-03; Council Member Jason A. Spriggs seconded. The motion was approved with six votes in favor (Coffey, Burnette, Rainey, Daeke, Thorpe-Cooper and Spriggs); Council Members Marion B. Williams and Melissa Elliott were absent.
The contract and ordinance establish authority and funding to proceed with design and bidding; staff indicated the $7,000 will be transferred from the Water Fund. No timeline for construction was set in the discussion.
