Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve Veteran Affairs Director Richard Newman to work the equivalent of 30 hours per week, which the minutes state qualifies him as a full‑time employee with benefits due to additional state-assigned duties related to the Disabled Veterans Real Estate Tax Exemption. That motion also carried unanimously.
Both actions were recorded as motions with unanimous approval in the meeting minutes; commissioners directed staff to bring the finalized HR language back for formal adoption.
