Fulton County commissioners on Feb. 24 approved a proclamation naming March 2026 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and recognized local providers and consumers who attended the signing.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve the proclamation, which the minutes record as commending the observance to citizens and affirming that 'Fulton County becomes a better place when people with and without disabilities come together to form strong, diverse communities.' Representatives from Occupational Services Inc., The Arc of Franklin/Fulton Counties, Full Circle Residence, Fulton County Human Services and other local organizations attended the signing and posed for a group photograph with the commissioners.
The proclamation language included the community-focused phrase 'One World, many Abilities!' and the board recorded unanimous approval. The commissioners directed recognition of the month as a community observance; no formal funding or policy change was recorded.
