The Camp Verde Town Council on Oct. 2 approved awarding Bid No. 24-195 to Skyline Builders & Restoration, Inc. for $171,637.18 to construct a vestibule addition at the municipal court.
CIP Project Manager Martin Smith explained the solicitation history: an initial open bid produced no responses, so staff pursued local Job Order Contracting (JOC) contractors and then the State JOC. Two local JOC firms declined or were reluctant to submit; Skyline submitted a state-JOC bid at about $172,000 and included the full addition except some technological components. The court requested three additional cameras and a monitor; Sunstate quoted $3,150 for hardware and installation with a $15 monthly service expense. Smith summarized that “the total of the vestibule was less than $175,000.”
Council members praised staff persistence in achieving a price that fit the budget. The council voted to award the contract to Skyline Builders & Restoration, Inc. by unanimous roll call (6-0; Jackie Baker absent).
The vendor will return required contract documents to the town and staff will proceed with scheduling construction under the town’s procurement and project management procedures.
