Flynn Company wins $3.69 million W45 road contract; county accepts low bid for two Western Star dump trucks

The Buchanan County Board of Supervisors on March 2 approved a low bid from Flynn Company, Inc. of $3,693,743.41 for contract 10‑C010‑124 (W45 project, from 180th Street to 130th Street).
County Engineer Alex Davis presented the bids and recommended accepting Flynn Company’s low bid; Supervisor John Kurtz moved to approve the contract and Supervisor Keith Wieland seconded the motion, which carried.
Davis also presented three bids for two Western Star tandem dump trucks with equipment packages. The board accepted Don’s Truck Sales’ low bid of $484,506.00 after a motion by Kurtz and second by Wieland.
Davis presented his five‑year plan to the board; no action was taken on the five‑year plan at the meeting.
