Bay Minette council approves payables, civic-center fee waiver and participation with county waste authority

At its Nov. 20, 2023 regular meeting, the City of Bay Minette City Council unanimously approved routine financial and administrative items, including payables of $433,694.16, a civic-center rental fee waiver for a community group, and participation in a county-level solid waste authority.
Councilmember William Taylor moved to approve the payables totaling $433,694.16; Mayor Pro Tempore Mike Phillips seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Mayor Wills also asked the council to approve Resolution 1123-06, waiving the John F. Rhodes Civic Center rental fee for the Bay Minette/Atmore Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. for March 16, 2024; Mayor Pro Tempore Phillips moved to approve the resolution, Councilmember Taylor seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The council also approved Resolution 1123-07 authorizing the City of Bay Minette to be a determining subdivision of the Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin County, Alabama, Inc. Councilmember Matt Franklin moved to approve the resolution; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Robert A. Wills opened the meeting and welcomed City Administrator/CFO Tammy Smith back after surgery. The minutes record no council or citizen comments before the council adjourned; Councilmember Shannon Clemmons moved to adjourn and Councilmember William Taylor seconded.
