The board moved to pay Lakeside Construction and Verwest Construction for work completed to date; the roll-call vote was Johnson yes, Richards yes, Tuite yes, Walcker yes, Roller yes, Krueger yes and Strand abstained. The park board agreed to request $30,000 in funding from the Steele County JDA at its Dec. 12 meeting to support the campground. A camper's request for a credit was discussed and the board directed Auditor Emily Wigen to send a letter denying the credit request.
The board later appointed Matt Roller as chairman after a motion by Ted Johnson and a second by Richard Strand. The park board then adjourned.
Next steps: the park board will seek JDA funding on Dec. 12 and will continue contractor payments and oversight as work progresses; the board expects contractor attendance at the January meeting to discuss outstanding bills.
