At its July 2 meeting the Burke County Finance Committee approved the June 2024 check runs and received routine administrative updates on payroll and other projects.
The Committee reviewed and approved the June check runs as part of its monthly financial oversight. Assistant County Manager Adam Flakes reported that the ACH process for all payroll was successful.
Committee Chair Lucious Abrams requested an update on the Cobb Road paving project; members discussed the current hold-up and considered whether a 'crush and run' surface might be a more practical short-term option than full paving. No formal direction or authorization for a change in approach was recorded.
Recreation Director Stephen Waskey told the committee the Recreation Department successfully hosted a 20-team tournament and provided details on July 4th festivities.
With no further business, Chair Lucious Abrams adjourned the meeting at 4:36 p.m.
