At its Sept. 5 meeting the Burke County Finance Committee opened bids for three county contracts: HVAC replacement at Citizens Park Gym, inmate medical services at the Burke County Detention Center, and detention center cleaning supplies. County staff said bids will be reviewed by the applicable departments and awards will be made at the full Commission meeting on Sept. 10, 2024.
For the Citizens Park Gym HVAC replacement, Rowell Heating & Air of Waynesboro submitted the low bid at $55,022.00. Hoffman Mechanical (Greensboro, N.C.) bid $64,481.00 and C.D. White (Waynesboro) bid $64,850.00.
Bids for inmate medical services showed wide variation. Hellyeahperformance (Hinesville, GA) submitted a bid of $152,409.60; Genesys Health (Waycross) bid $447,396.00; Advanced Correctional Health (Franklin, TN) bid $1,395,456.00. Comprehensive Correctional Care (Benton, KY) submitted no price in the record.
For detention center cleaning supplies the transcript records submissions from McKesson Medical (Henrico, VA) and Quill (Lincolnshire, IL), each providing a pricing list rather than a single-line bid.
Committee members did not act on awards at the Sept. 5 meeting; the transcript records that departments will review the bids and the Commission will consider awards on Sept. 10. No procurement contract was awarded at the Finance Committee meeting.
