Council accepts donated fence for Red Bud Lift Station to deter trespassing

The Henderson City Council approved Resolution 23-41 on Nov. 13 to accept a hog-wire fence donated to protect the Red Bud Lift Station from trespassing.
City Manager Edward T. Blackmon told council that a property owner offered the fence and would be responsible for erecting it and accepting liability for removal or repair. The City Attorney reviewed and approved the terms of the agreement, Blackmon said.
Councilmember Marion B. Williams moved to approve the acceptance; Councilmember D. Michael Rainey seconded the motion. The resolution passed unanimously with Mayor Eddie Ellington and councilmembers Marion B. Williams, D. Michael Rainey, Melissa Elliott, Garry D. Daeke, and Ola Thorpe-Cooper present; Sara M. Coffey, Lamont Noel, and Jason Spriggs were recorded absent.
The approval authorizes the city to accept the donated fence under the terms reviewed by the City Attorney and allows the donor to install the fence at the Red Bud Lift Station.
