The Miramar City Commission unanimously approved the consent agenda including award of IFB 26002 for armed security guard services to SecureTech of Florida LLC after a company representative spoke in support.
The Miramar City Commission unanimously approved its consent agenda on Feb. 23, which included awarding IFB 26002 for armed security guard services to SecureTech of Florida LLC.
Joshua Veltri, representing SecureTech of Florida, appeared in chambers and said the company intends to retain current employees serving the contract and hire Miramar residents where possible. “We are honored to be awarded this contract and secure your facilities,” Veltri said.
A motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded; the clerk recorded five affirmative votes from Commissioner Chambers, Commissioner Sherazard, Vice Mayor Colburn, Commissioner Edwards and Mayor Massam. No members of the public asked that consent items be pulled. Veltri left his business card with the clerk and thanked the commission for the opportunity.
The contract award was presented as routine under the consent agenda; commissioners offered no substantive debate on the item during the meeting.
