EDMOND — The Edmond Planning Commission on Feb. 17 approved multiple development applications and forwarded them to City Council for final action, and continued one site-plan at the applicant's request.
The commission approved minutes and a one-item consent agenda and referred consent item 2B to the City Council on March 9, 2026. Commissioners also voted to continue a U-Haul storage site-plan (SP24-018) for 913 S. Broadway to the March 3 planning meeting at the applicant's request.
Major approvals included a site plan for the Edmond Fire Maintenance Building (staff said the ~1-acre project includes a roughly 5,000-square-foot building, a 35-foot maximum height and a new exit-only driveway onto southbound Air Depot) and two planned-unit developments (PUDs) clearing the way for infill residential construction. The commission approved the fire maintenance building 5–0; the Lexi's Cottage PUD (Z25-9) passed 4–0 after resident comment; and the Cologne Holdings PUD (Z25-00024) passed 4–0.
Neighbors at both PUD hearings said they feared the rezonings could set a precedent for smaller lots and taller townhomes in the Capital View area. Applicant representatives said the projects are intended to bring nonconforming properties into compliance and align with historical lot patterns.
All items that were approved were forwarded to the City Council for further consideration on March 9, 2026. The commission adjourned after the votes.
