EMA director: dispatch clocks aging; commissioners approve replacement and emergency-services contracts

Brian Barton, Fulton County EMA/911 Director, told the Board of Commissioners on Dec. 23 that the dispatch clocks at the county dispatch center are more than two decades old and recommended replacement. "Pre Alert is in place," Barton said, "and the information has been sent out to the fire departments." The board approved purchasing two dispatch clocks from ComPros for $4,940, covering hardware and installation.
Barton also provided updates on trainings and department activity and the board approved the 2026 Mission Critical Partners Regional Support Contract for Professional Services; the transcript records that the contract is fully grant funded. Separately, the board approved a McCutcheon Enterprises, Inc. Hazmat Team 2-Year Agreement with scheduled payments of $2,500 for FY2026 and $7,500 for FY2027.
The approvals were made by voice vote with "All in favor" recorded. The items were presented during the EMA/911 agenda discussion and are intended to maintain emergency response capability and regional support services.
