Fulton County adopts 2026 budget with no tax increase

Fulton County commissioners voted Dec. 30 to adopt the county’s 2026 budget and approved Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution, with no increase in county taxes for fiscal year 2026. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the budget as presented by CFO Mike Lamb and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed; the motion carried with all commissioners in favor.
County fiscal staff presented the proposed budget and Reed said no changes were made since the public advertisement. The board also approved the December 2025 pension report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston and signed off on accounts payable totaling $112,913.87 (General Fund $98,764.92; Debt Service $14,148.95).
The adoption completes the formal budget process for fiscal year 2026. Commissioners noted routine follow-up items, including a formal appointment of Keller Engineer, Inc. at the county’s Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. The meeting adjourned after a brief Salary Board session and an executive session on personnel matters.
