Councilmember Shirley Presnall outlined parks and recreation work at the Jan. 6, 2026 Satsuma City Council meeting, including winter pipe-wrapping, limb and leaf cleanup, and ongoing maintenance at parks and community facilities.
Presnall said crews have been removing holiday decorations and performing repairs at the Community Center, Lodge and Chapel. She noted a toilet-seat replacement at Lions Park, reported touring parks to identify needs, and said the library requested a meeting with her and the mayor.
Presnall announced that Swamp Fest will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, and said the splash pad typically opens on May 1; she suggested scheduling food trucks and music for the opening. She also said Lions Park is accepting ball registrations. At the council’s request the Satsuma Community Garden will be added to the Jan. 13 workshop agenda for further discussion.
The parks items were discussed as part of routine departmental reports and no formal council action was required beyond adding the community garden to the upcoming workshop.
