Board appoints Linda Englebert to library board, issues proclamation honoring James Lawrence

At its Jan. 7 meeting the Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Linda Englebert to the Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County Library Board to fill a vacancy; the term runs to Dec. 31, 2027. The motion to appoint was made by Commissioner Damon Hoyte and seconded by Commissioner Jason Frost.
The board also adopted a proclamation honoring James Edward "Jimmy" Lawrence, who served on the board of assessors and as a county commissioner in multiple terms and who died Dec. 5, 2024. The proclamation lists Lawrence's service dates (assessor March 2006–Dec. 2008; commissioner Jan. 1, 2009–Dec. 31, 2012 and Jan. 1, 2013–Dec. 31, 2019) and was approved and signed by Chairman Charles Coffey on Jan. 7, 2025.
