Simpson County Fiscal Court approved multiple budget and cash transfers at its Feb. 17 meeting, including a cash transfer of $120,110 from the General Fund to the Jail Fund and a $7,035.99 transfer from the Federal Grant Fund to the General Fund. The court approved the January financial statement subject to audit and authorized a suite of budget transfers reallocating line items across departments.
The court also approved bills and claims as presented. Notable payments on the vendor list included $138,290.50 to Barren District Health Department and $123,038.50 to F-S Parks & Recreation, and the transcript records payroll disbursements across general, road and jail funds. The court approved payment of the vendor list by unanimous vote.
OEM Director Robert Palmer reported a roughly one-third increase in the safe room project budget but said the county’s contribution will remain $50,000 as previously stated. The court approved a $50,000 contribution and directed a budget amendment be implemented pending the timeline for completion of phase II.
