Chattahoochee County sets 2026 qualifying fees for county commission and school board

The Chattahoochee County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution setting candidate qualifying fees for local offices in 2026 and authorized the county clerk to publish the fees under state law.
At a Jan. 26 called meeting the board approved qualifying fees of $362 for County Commission and $72 for County Board of Education candidates. Commissioner Jason Frost moved to approve the fees and Commissioner Timothy Biddle seconded; the vote was unanimous among commissioners present.
The board directed that qualifying for the 2026 local election will open at 9 a.m. Monday, March 2, and close at noon Friday, March 6, 2026. The county clerk was instructed to publish the fees no later than Feb. 1, 2026, consistent with O.C.G.A. § 21-2-131.
The resolution recording the fees appears in the meeting packet and was executed as part of the Jan. 26 work session.
