The Lunenburg County Planning Commission unanimously elected James Tharpe as chairman and Commissioner Thompson as vice chairman during its Feb. 3 meeting and approved the Nov. 16, 2021 meeting minutes.
Taylor N. Newton, clerk of the Planning Commission, called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. and conducted roll call before commissioners moved to nominate leadership. Commissioner Pennington nominated James Tharpe for chairman; Commissioner Jennings seconded the nomination and a roll-call vote unanimously approved Tharpe.
Upon assuming the chair, James Tharpe called for nominations for vice chairman. Commissioner Shell nominated Commissioner Thompson, Commissioner Pennington seconded, and a roll-call vote unanimously approved Thompson for the role. Later in the meeting, Commissioner Pennington moved and Commissioner Thompson seconded approval of the Nov. 16, 2021 minutes; that motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m. Chairman Tharpe announced the next Planning Commission meeting for March 3, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.
