Board receives clean FY2023 audit, approves warrants and school appropriations

Robinson Farmer Cox Associates presented the county’s FY2023 audit at the March 11 meeting, delivering an unmodified opinion and no management letter — assessments county staff said reflect good fiscal standing.
Taylor Stover, the auditor, thanked staff in the Treasurer, Commissioner, Finance, school and social-services offices for their cooperation. The Board then approved March county warrants and payroll (motion by Ms. Alsop, second by Ms. Norman) and recorded unanimous votes to appropriate school revenues for October ($656,929.23), November ($633,622.51) and December ($631,650.24) 2023 to the School Fund. The Board also approved appropriating $74,743 of school construction grant funds to reimburse the County for KQES modular campus expense and to meet state certification requirements (motion by Ms. Alsop, second Ms. Norman).
